Frequently Asked Questions on Wellness |
Q: What is the concept of wellness? A: The concept of wellness involves living a healthy lifestyle through physical, mental, emotional and spiritual means. It is possible to prevent or control disease by adapting a lifestyle that focuses on healthy habits. |
Q: Do you put people on diets? A: No. In one of the classes, we talk about why diets don't work but living a healthy lifestyle does! |
Q: What topics do you offer in wellness classes? A: See the sample schedule of classes that are offered. Every group has different needs, so I will customize wellness classes to meet the needs of your group. |
Q: The schedule says that 10 weekly classes are offered. What if we would like fewer classes? A: Scheduling monthly or quarterly classes is a great idea. It would be possible to combine two of the weekly classes into one longer class. During Summer/Fall of 2008, I have been giving monthly presentations at a South Sioux City, Nebraska church. |
Q: Would we be able to add to or delete topics from the list of classes? A: Yes. An advance notice of 4 weeks would be required to change topics and allow ample time to prepare the presentations and handouts. |
Q: We would like to sample the recipes that you bring. Is that possible? A: Yes. Most people are more likely to use a recipe that they have already tasted, rather than add the recipe to their "collection." My most favorite recipes are those that I have received from other people. There will be an additional cost that covers the time to purchase, prepare, and serve the food. |
Q: What is the fee for your classes? A: The fee will depend on the needs and desires of your group, but generally the fee is charged by the hour. If your group would like the dietitian to serve food, an additional charge will be added. To inquire about fees, please Contact Us. |
